The Taliano Michele Winery is based in Montà d’Alba, in the Roero region, and owns vineyards both in Roero and in the Barbaresco area, in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio (Alba).
The company was founded in 1930 by Domenico Taliano, but its roots go back much further. Domenico belonged to a family of farmers known in the village by the nickname “Re Cit,” meaning “little kings,” always dedicated to working the fields and vineyards.
Initially, all the vineyards were within the municipality of Montà, in the areas of Bossola, Rolandi, and Benna.
In the mid-1970s, under the guidance of his son Michele, the company expanded towards the Langhe region, acquiring vineyards and a farmhouse in Montersino, in the San Rocco Seno d’Elvio district of Alba, between Treiso and Barbaresco.
In the mid-1990s, Michele’s sons—primarily Alberto, later joined by his brother Ezio, the winery’s oenologist after gaining various work experiences—revitalized the company, updating grape production and wine aging techniques.
The winery’s growth continues, along with the acquisition of new lands and vineyards. The winery has been completely renovated and expanded with a new underground section. The current tasting room was completed in 2017.
Since 2019, with the installation of the photovoltaic system, the energy used has been 100% green.
The Roero, located on the left bank of the Tanaro River, is a precious land offering enchanting landscapes and an ideal terroir for fresh, fragrant, and structured wines.
Roero wines, including the famous Roero Arneis DOCG and the noble Roero DOCG red, are known for their freshness, finesse, and longevity—perfect for those seeking elegance and lightness in a glass.
Here lies our oldest vineyard, shaped like a natural amphitheater, which ensures optimal sun exposure and a more uniform grape ripening thanks to the creation of a particular microclimate, protection from cold air currents, and the reflection of sunlight off the surrounding slopes.
Our vineyards are located both in the Roero and in the Barbaresco area, in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio (Alba), where gently rolling hills and breathtaking landscapes have produced some of the world’s finest wines for centuries.
The Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014, is renowned for its extraordinary wine vocation.
The area extends through the provinces of Cuneo, Asti, and Alessandria, with hills offering a variety of microclimates ideal for high-quality grape growing. Among the most famous varieties are Nebbiolo, used for Barolo and Barbaresco, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Moscato—just a few of the region’s iconic grapes.
Our winery offers unique labels, an authentic expression of the Roero and Langhe territories.
Our selection ranges from typical Roero wines, such as Roero Arneis DOCG and Roero DOCG Riserva, to prestigious Langhe wines like Barbera d’Alba DOC, Langhe DOC Nebbiolo, Barbaresco DOCG Riserva, and Barolo DOCG from the Municipality of Serralunga d’Alba.
